We went to the Target Center in Minneapolis today to listen to President Obama's Health Care Reform speech - well worth it - just great. We could hardly see him, but who cares. Here is a link to a couple of photos if you want to check them out:

Liberal Liberal Liberal-in other words, it would only program the truth to encourage debate, discussion, and reasoned thinking, and not a bunch of reactionist crap that scares non-thinking people to act AGINST their own self-interest and WITH their prejudices.

I finally have two Senators. It's about time. Senator Al Franken has a nice ring to it. Yeah for Minnesota!

We've had our Solar Oven for one week and I've made 10 meals with it so far, having had a couple of rainy days and some clouds. It's fantastic and since I don't enjoy cooking at all, but will use this because it's Green, is so perfect for us. They're made and sold by the non-profit Solar Oven Society that provides cheap or free ovens to women in developing countries so that they don't have to spend their whole day scrounging around for sparse wood; instead, they can get a job or create products for sale while their food cooks, the only energy being used is the free sun!

Been a busy few days - my PhD viva went very well yesterday - I passed my viva with minor revisions and in about 4 weeks, I'll have the PhD. The readers were great - want me to publish immediately (!) - will help, since I've not published anything since 2003 except online archaeology reports. Otherwise, HMS Victory, HMS Warrior, Mary Rose, Royal Naval Museum, Imperial War Museum, British Museum, British Library, Petrie Museum, UCL, City of London Museum, Docklands Museum, Hyde Park, a bit of Kensington and Notting Hill, Greenwich Maritime Museum, Cutty Sark Restoration, HMS Belfast, and bunches of other stuff. Home on Sunday to begin final re-arrangement of PhD to get it done ASAP!

We've been in London about 9 hours, having passed out for a couple with a little jet lag. Wonderful fly-over of Central London prior to landing at Heathrow - could even pick out all my favorite outdoor haunts. A bit rainy, but supposed to be a bit nicer tomorrow for a "get-re-acquainted" walk around town. Probably won't even see my Dissertation supervisor until just before my Viva on Wednesday. My hubby and I are both having separation anxiety over taking our kitties to my mom's and actually LEAVING them there for over a week...aaarrrgghhhh!!! We called her 4 times in 12 hours prior to leaving home and she refused to use e-mail, so I'm relying on my sister to call her to check up on our babies and then she can e-mail us. Our cell doesn't work here and it's very annoying, since I checked on this before we left and they said "Hey, no problem!"
OK, enough of that. Glad to be in London!

Boy, at this rate, you may even catch up to me! Well, actually, you caught up to me by a "two years" today, since I turned one year older on Tuesday....I'm no longer the Ultimate Answer...I'm so depressed...channels Marvin...not really, but I had to do it! ;-)
But, you're still such a spring chicky - I hope your day is going well!
